There are tons of those "free " Xbox/ Ipod/ etc. websites but they're all basically the same. Read the fine print on the website - they literally do not guarantee to give you anything. They're under nothing that states that they HAVE to give you your free gift even if you actually did complete all the tasks/ offers. They also give themselves the right to cancel anyone's account at any time, or any reason. These are all pyramid schemes and are just this side of legal. Even legal pyramid scams exist solely to take advantage of lazy idiots who don't understand basic mathematics. If you're looking at a program that requires 10 "friends " to complete your program, and everyone signs up under someone, then less than 10% of the total participants will ever get their free gift. While there are people who claim to have gotten something from these websites, if you spend a few seconds, you can easily find many, many, many, many times more complaints from people who got nothing at all - even though they supposedly completed the program. And as a wonderful side-effect, you end up giving your name, address, phone number and email address to every marketing firm willing to fork over a quarter for your information. Do yourself a favor, and just ignore these scams. Get a job and just save up your cash.

Yes, but don't do anything like that on the computer. If a local of even national company has a drawing you could win. It probaly won't happen, but you could try.

Yes, there are ways to get a free Elite. Here are some ways to get it free: 1. Ask for it for a birthday present or Christmas present. 2. Enter a contest and win it. There is no way to get it free by giving out your e-mail address. If it's possible to get it free, why are people spending money to buy it when they can give out their e-mail address to get a free one? I would give out my e-mail address if I can get a free Elite. They can spam me a million times. I don't care just as long as I get a free Elite.

Check magazines and websites (be careful with websites) and look for contests to enter

There is but if a pop up window ever comes up and says you won an xbox 360 dont do it. my friend did it with his 2500 dollar laptop. turns out it was spyware. it put a deadly to computer viruses in it and brned all the memory out. it made the computer burn really hot, so hot it litterally melted some of the pieces inside.

Ok... I think the closest you are going to get is a No credit card freebie site. The offers require your email, or your address... nothing really huge for the most part. (Just don't do the offers that don't fall into the nothing really huge category.) Don't ever follow a pop-up to a freebie site. The good ones don't do that. And usually you shouldn't have to wade through lots of crap to even get to the offers. (There's one exception that I know of, and that's only a few pages. No biggie.) You are going to have to refer people no matter what you do. The only way to not have to refer people is to do tons of offers, and you'd have to use a credit card. Since you don't want to... Referrals are the way to go. Friends (throw a pizza party when your gift comes), email and forum signatures (don't spam, it'll get your account canceled), traffic exchanges, and so on are all good referral resources. I even buy referrals. It works for me. Good luck on finding your system.

Some of these do work, but i know there's TONS of bad apples among the group. the business model makes sense so they don't have to rip you off to make a profit, but some i guess find it too tempting... basically any site that you see advertised, or claims you "won " one, is a ripoff. the legit sites have a very small profit margin, but the ripoff sites would have to make millions to afford myspace advertising and all the other they do. a legit site works like this: you join the site and then choose from a list of "offers " to try. these are things like free trials of blockbuster online, or just all different things, but most are free trials. depending on what type o site it is, you either complete X amount of offers, or you refer X amount of people to also sign up and do an offer or two. even on a do-it-yourself site you might spend like, $30 on offers. so not 100% free, but a very small amount. when you sign up to try these services, the company (meaning blockbuster, or whoever) pays the "free stuff " site for getting you to try them. what the ripoff sites do is instead of freely letting you select from offers to do, they put a handful of em on three or four pages, and say "complete 2 offers on each page ". then right before you have earned your freebie, on the last page, they limit your choices to crap like car loans or other insanely expensive junk, so that you can't finish. don't sign up for any site that doens't let you see and choose from all of the available offers. i did one of these sites a few weeks ago (called Somethin4Nothin) and did get a free ipod. i did a do-it-your site (called a Points site), not a "refer X people " site. i tracked my progress in a blog here: freestuffadventures.wordpress.com
