Xbox 360 Elite Console Homepage

Question: I have just bought a xbox 360 elite console. do i need to set up xbox live in order to play games ?

You can still play games, you just just can't play games online unless you get XBOX Live.

U can play games. but xbox live is online against other people that have different styles of playing. xbox live is like a different experience. Add me if you get xbox live - lewisa44

No. Xbox Live Silver membership is free. It allows you to basically do everything Gold members can do, except enter contests and play online. You can still download demos, and chat with friends. I think you need gold for netflix however.

You do not have to whatsoever, All games can be played just not online, the only reason the Elite advertises that so much is because it comes with a free membership!
