Question: Xbox 360 elite warranty?

Ok I just registered my new xbox, bought it in January, my old console's warranty expired in like 2008 and it broke too many times. Well on my elite's warranty on xbox.com it says it expires in january of next year, I payed extra to get 2 extra years of warranty when I bought it at walmart, so does that mean I can take it back to walmart if it breaks in the next two years, or that Microsoft is cheating me out of my money?
