I think it's better than the fat 360. 1. It has theValhalla chipset so it's supposed to be a lot cooler (temperature) than the Jasper chipset. 2. It's supposed to be a lot quieter than the fat. 3. It's Kinect ready. It has an additional port for Kinect. 4. It's Wi-Fi ready out of the box so you don't need to spend 80/ 100 bucks for the Wi-Fi adapter.

I really like my xbox 360 elite. Maybe it's just because I have gotten used to it? But I don't plan on buying the Kinect. All those movements and stuff.. I don't know. I like controllers. Even though with xbox 360 you still have to buy a whole lot of the stuff seperately, it's totally worth it in my opinion. Hope I helped. :)

Without knowing much about your specific Xbox needs, it is wise in general to buy the upgraded version, so you can avail of the new ways of 'playing and connecting' Microsoft is promising. Examples: - fix to the red ring of death problem - no external controller needed with Kinect sensor - microphone so you can talk and control your console with your voice alone - you can wave to hit the Netflix button, or you just say "Netflix and enjoy HD movies instantly - video chat with your friends or watch a video together with them - remotely! . . or - skype it away

New Xbox 360 Slim 250GB 7thingsdigital.com/ ?p= 80 Xbox 360 250GB ConsoleWith a sleek new design, a 250GB hard drive and built-in Wi-Fi, the new Xbox 360 gives you the ultimate gaming and entertainment experience Features: (+ )Xbox 360 has blockbuster games, HD movies and controller-free fun for everyone. (+ )Built-in Wi-Fi for easy connection to Xbox LIVE. (+ )More storage for games, movies and music with 250GB HD. (+ )Super quiet with sleek new design plus matching controller and headset. (+ )Ready for the controller-free fun of Kinect. Review: A great redesign, but don't buy unless you really need it. The new Xbox 360 redesign is slimmer, quieter, sleeker, has built in Wireless N, and has a 250GB hard drive. It is not a new console, and is not any spectacular leap for Xbox. This is simply a better Xbox 360. First off, the console looks great. It is much smaller than the current model, and has a really nice black glossy finish (although fingerprints show up a lot easier). The buttons are now touch sensitive rather than physical buttons. It is also, as said by Microsoft, "whisper quiet ". Unlike the current model, this one doesn't sound like a jet engine when running, and allows it to be practically unnoticed, a big plus when watching movies. It also has built in Wireless N Wifi, which adds a significant value to this console, as the current adapters Microsoft sells are in the $70-$100 range. They also added a 250GB internal hard drive, which is removable, but NOT compatible with current 360's. If you are looking to upgrade, you are going to have to transfer all of your stuff from the old Xbox to the new one using USB drives (this 360 does not have memory unit slots, just USB). The console is also Kinect ready, and includes a specific port for Kinect when it launches this November. This port supplies the Kinect camera with power and the connection to the Xbox, whereas otherwise you would have to plug in Kinect to the wall for power AND the Xbox for the connection. Bottom line, if you don't have a 360 and want to make the jump, this is the time to do it. If you have a 20GB 360 or a console that's giving you problems (overheating etc.), I would say you should look at upgrading. If you have a fairly newer 360 model, I think you should just hold off.

Yes go for Xbox Slim its a good buy Xbox 360 S Pros - Nearly silent when compared with the original 360. - Smaller with a slimmer look. - Built in wireless N and its fast. - Integrated optical audio. - 5 usb ports. - Internal, but easily accessible 250gb HDD on the bottom of the console. - Uses half the power of the original. - Works with most of the old accessories, including the transfer cable. Xbox 360 S cons - The IR receiver is located lower on the console and appears to have a narrower field. So depending on setup using a remote maybe a headache. - Only comes with standard def av cables. - Does not use the old memory cards or hard drives. - Touch sensitive buttons that when touch emit a soft tone. - Kinect ready socket in the back.
